Tom
and Julie Atwood have always believed that
quality was going to be their
guideline whether raising horses, cattle
or Sonoma Valley cabernets!
Tom began his quest to create great horses
roughly 30 years ago. His interest in working
quarter horse bloodlines drew him to a few of the
greats, both stallions and broodmares. He
obtained several studs by sons of Doc Bar, Peppy
San Badger, Doc OLena, and Colonel Freckles
to name a few. The broodmare bands are champions
and money-earners in their own right. The winning
formula for a successful breeding program took
flight. Learn more about Atwood history at

Rob and Becky Williams have been raising Atwood
Quarter Horses for the past eight years.
Beckys passion, aside from her life
partner, Rob, and their family and friends, is
all about horses. She grew up on a farm, in the
saddle and was showing by age 8. Starting with
Arabians, her interest in cutting led her to
switch gears to Quarter Horses after marrying Rob
and moving to central Oregon.
While Becky has always enjoyed working with
babies and starting two year olds, her desire to
show reiners has recently begun to be fulfilled. Currently, she is riding
an Atwood Quarter Horse -- Smart Colonel
Annie, an I'll Be Smart daughter out of a Colonel
Freckles mare. Becky would like to extend
her sincere thanks and appreciation to Danny
Gerardi for the amazing job he did training this
mare and getting her and Becky ready for the show
ring. Of course, the big thanks is
extended to Tom Atwood for putting these great
pedigrees together so that we may all enjoy the
ride!
Rob primarily plays the support role
with the horse operation
and very well. He
is involved in stallion management during
breeding season and attempts to keep Beckys
honey-do list to a minimum. Youll find Rob
horseback if there is gathering needing to be
done on the ranches, but his life doesnt
leave much time for joy riding these days.
Raising Atwood Quarter Horses has been a terrific
experience for the Williams.... a great
family of friends within the organization, and
completely remarkable horses!
